MOM

First of all I want to tell everyone that I am sorry that I don't have any pictures of my mom by herself, and I promise I will work on that. Now for the really reason for this post. Today is my mom's birthday. I am sorry that I can't be with her on it but she told me that school comes first and I know that I should honor my mother. So staying in Logan is honoring her. But I love her so much. There are the top reasons of why I love my mom.

She puts everyone before herself. (I think this is where I get it from, but I am not as good at hiding it as she is) When I am down I can call her and she will just listen to me complain about what ever it might be. I love her for that. Most of the time she can calm me down and I can think clearly about what I need to do about my problems.

She is great with children. I also think that I get my loving of children from her. Growing up most of my friends called her mom, when I got to college most of my friends called her Pocatello mom, and now that I have some friends that have children, my friend's let their children call her grandma. She has a way with children. My nephew loves to go to my mom's house. I don't think it is because of what is there but I know it is because who will be there. My mom.

She has brought me up that family comes first and that we should always love our family. She does that now still. Every time I look at my mom she is stand behind a family member no matter what is going on. She has taught me that even if you have plans if a family member needs you, you should help them. Family- mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins should be the number one thing (next to God) in everybody's life.

She has stayed close to the Savior. I know that when my dad died she could have blamed God and never gone back to church. But she has not done this. She has always been happy to be in church. She loves her calling more than anything. She loves to do genealogy for the church and she thinks that everyone should do that or index.

And last but not least she is a beautiful women both inside and out. I really don't know how she was able to raise my sister and I our whole life without having a spouse to help her. She is a strong women and I love her. She can do anything and I know that because of what she has done for me that I can do anything as well. I also know that because of what I have been taught I am who I am. I love my mom more than words can express, or actions can show. I hope she knows this. I don't tell her enough how much I love her. But I do. I LOVE YOU MOM, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

TRYSTEN

I can't believe it, my nephew Trysten is 4 today. He is getting so big. It seems only yesterday that my sister was telling me she was pregnant. I am so grateful to have him in my life. He is my best boy friend. There are things that he does sometimes that my mom and sister say that he is more like me. Here are just a few things: he likes frog, to sing songs, and to read. Almost every time that I come in the same room as he is he comes over and has to tell me a story of what he has been doing. He is a very smart and loving kid. I love him and wish sometimes that I lived in the same town as he is, so when I am in a bad mood I could see him and it changes everything from dark to light. I love you Trysten and HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY!

p.s. It is also my best friend's youngest daughter's birthday too. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILIE!

Spring Break 2010

For Spring Break I took some of my friends up to my family's cabin. We wished there was more snow so we could got on longer snowmobiling trips. But we all seemed to have fun. We left on Friday the 12th. My car got up there around 6, the second car got up there around 8:00, and the last car got up there by about 10:30. Friday we just sat around and talked, Saturday some went out snowmobiling for an hour. And for breakfast we had cereal, lunch was meat sandwiches, dinner was spaghetti. Then we just played games. Sunday, All but 2 of my friends and I went to church(all 3 meetings) when we got home we made a potato bar for linner, then for dinner we just snacked (some made pancakes). Monday we had french toast, bacon, hash browns, fruit, ect. for breakfast, lunch we had cheese sandwiches and soup, dinner we had haystacks. Scott, Lydia and Jake played in the snow and dug a cave in the front yard. We also went over to the club house to swim, Jon and Wade stayed at the cabin while the rest of us went over. The cabin's internet was not working so Adrienne and I played on our laptops while the others swam. When everyone was done we all went back to the cabin to find out that Wade and Jon left because Wade got called into work for Tuesday. Monday we did our own Family Home Evening. We started out in the living room to sing a song have a scripture, and a prayer. Then we went up to the bonus room to have a competition. The teams were Team 1: Me, Andy Q, Adrienne, and Jamie; Team 2: Lydia, Andy S, Jake and Scott. The competition was that we all played Foosball, air hockey, and pool. The team that won more won. The winner was team 2. It is totally okay that my team did not win because everyone had fun. Tuesday we went back out on the snowmobiles and had fun doing that. Then we had fun watching movies at the cabin. Our menu for Tuesday was cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and hamburgers for dinner. Wednesday we got up and cleaned the cabin and was out by 11:30. I am so glad that everyone got up and helped so we could get on the road and back to Logan before dark. We stopped in Rexburg to see the temple. Then we stopped in Pocatello to eat lunch with my mom. THANKS MOM!!! We made it to Logan by 5:00. I am so glad that we had fun. I am also glad that I made some new friends and got to spend time with other friends.

Watermelon Testifies of Friends

This has 3 totally different things that I have done. The first thing that happened was my friend Emily called me to let me know that her ward was having a baby shower for her. It was on a day that I was a little busy but I felt like I should go anyway. So when I got there she introduced me to her ward friends. She also told everyone that I was going to be her mom for the day because her mom and sister could not have made it. So I took pictures and wrote who gave her what gift. The first picture is of what I gave her. I also gave her a thing of hot chocolate. We have a joke with the hot chocolate. That is how she told me that she was expecting. She called me and asked if I would go to Sam's Club and get her hot chocolate. I asked if she was feeling okay for wanting that much hot chocolate. She said "well it is the only thing that I could really keep down since I have been pregnant." I got so excited for her. So I went and got her some hot chocolate. The baby shower was so fun. I am glad that someone did something her for

Now for the watermelon part of the title. So my roommate Morgan got a watermelon and when she cut into it, it looked like the pictures below. We were all wondering what happened to the center as well if it was a good watermelon. But it was actually a good watermelon. However, looking at it no one would have guessed that it would have been that good.

On Wednesday, for IWA, Emily and I were in charge of the activity. We invited all the Wednesday chapters of IWA that meets at the institute as well as the Wednesday night men's group. Everyone said that it went better than their expectation. I was a little bit worried but I also thought it went good. Everyone mostly minded the rules of staying silent through this experience and I only had to tell three people to be quite. Everyone started in the same room and then we took 10ish people out of the room, blindfolded them, and lead them into another room that only had 2 lights on and the chairs where not in the normal set up so they had to work their way around them to get to the exit door. When the got to the exit door. One of two people lead them out to the end which was Natalie giving them a paper to write their thoughts on and they went in to the chapel where they sat in the pews. There was a slide show of Christ going on so we told every that their goal was to sit at the feet of the Saviors feet. Everyone was suppose to stay quite. Then Emily got up said her testimony, Sister Simmons said a few words and then we had time for 2 people from the audience to bear their testimony. Then I got up and said my testimony and closed the activity. It went amazingly well. If I was to do this again there would be only 3 or 4 things that I would have done differently, but I am not going to dwell on those things because I was told it went good. And people liked it. Now to end this blog I want to bear my testimony to all of you!

I have a testimony of the Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father sent his son down to earth to open the door for us to get back to Heaven. I know that Jesus Christ was the only one that could have unlocked the gate. I know that if we just do our part through our trials then Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there for us. They want us to succeed. They also so want us to be happy. I know that Joseph Smith was a man of God and President Monson is the man of God of our day. I know that Heavenly Father loves to hear from us and if we just go to our knees he will answer us even if it is not like we want him too. I also know that going to church and visiting the temple is the closest we can get to being in heaven while being on earth. I know the families can be together forever if we are sealed as a family in the temple and if we continue to do our best. I also know that when we get judged after death that our maker will take our best into how we are judged. I know that family is and are forever. I know that we should be close to our family (both sides). No matter if the family is siblings, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, or grandparents, we should love them more then friends. However, I know that sometimes friends feel like family members more than actually family and I know that is sad but it is good to have friends to help you get through the hard times. I love my family and friends. My sister and mom are my life time best friends and I hope they know I will do anything for them. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
