GOODBYE PRESIDENT HINCKLEY

President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through twelve years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97.

President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since 12 March 1995.

The Church president died at his apartment in downtown Salt Lake City at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night from causes incident to age. Members of his family were at his bedside. A successor is not expected to be formally chosen by the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles until after President Hinckley’s funeral within the next few days.

This is an article I saw on the Newsroom at lds.com. Now I want to take this time to say my testimony:

I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. I believe that the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley was a true prophet and that he led this church by the spirit. Everything that he said I know was through the Holy Ghost. I believe that the scriptures and prayer are two ways that we can communicate with the Lord and if we read the scriptures and say our prayers that we will know what to do to get closer to the Lord. I know that we can do many things to get like the Lord but if we do our best that is good for the Lord. He knows our best and what we can do, and what we can handel. And I know that he will not give us anything that we can not handle. I loved President Hinckley and I am sad that he is gone but I am glad he is with his wife again. I am taking this time to remember what HE did for our church not that is gone.

  1. This is really nice Natasha. He is really who you and Brittney grew up knowing that he has been the prophet. All that he has done he will be missed but I agree I think he is probably real happy to be with his wife. That is something that we should remember that he had something there that he missed a lot.
